Update from Murray Ellis as build up gets well underway

As you’ll see from the photo below, build up for the PSP Southampton Boat Show is well underway.  Dan Taylor, my Operations Manager and I have been on site since last week and the Show is taking shape quickly.

This year’s Show, which starts a week tomorrow (Friday) will host approximately 580 exhibitors, with more than 340 boats afloat on the marina.  The strength of the Show is underlined by many exhibitors once again choosing the world-class event to launch their boats and products; 12 boats are making their World debut, two boats are making their European debut and a further 33 are being unveiled for the first time in the UK.   We are delighted to host these launches.

Content of the Show’s attractions, coupled with our integrated marketing and pr campaign is seeing the Show getting a great deal of coverage across a wide range of titles from enthusiast magazines to lifestyle titles such as Waitrose Weekend and Men’s Health.  The team at NBS has been communicating throughout the campaign with the local media and as a result the varying titles are all planning their coverage angles and are excited about the Show starting in just over a week’s time.  Ticket sales are going well with the new ticket option to book Try-a-Boat in advance being very well received; the Platinum Ticket in association with Princess is once again very popular.

While we are finalising the Southampton show, the team at Marine House is also working on the 2012 Tullett Prebon London Boat Show.  With the increased demand for space in the North Hall, there have been a number of enforced changes to the floor plan, enabling the Sales Account team to concentrate on achieving a focused product sector layout.  For example, we have moved the Marina sector out of the Marine Services area and relocated it within the Holiday & Watersports Zone which is being well received.

We understand that some members and exhibitors are taking a little more time to consider your stand requirements at London and we’re keen to continue to work with you to ensure your investment in the Show is successful.  We believe the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show is a strong showcase and are confident that it will continue to deliver business for you. The team would love to talk to any members and exhibitors about London over the course of the Southampton Show so please do ask us any questions.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the PSP Southampton Boat Show and wish those of you joining us there a successful event.
