BMF AGM & Conference
(Including MTA, APCO, BMF Central & BMF East Anglia
AGMs)

Museum Duxford, Cambridgeshire CB22 4QR.
The BMF Conference day starts with an introduction from the BMF
CEO, Robert Stevens followed by the BMF Annual General Meeting.
Setting the scene for the BMF Annual Conference will be
Dr Peter Hughes, of Cognition, a member company.
Surviving the Tough Times, Peter will speak about the challenges
ahead of us during the current economic downturn; discuss ways to
tackle these challenges head on with an informative, light hearted
approach. Following Peter one or two further members will be
introduced speaking about their companies and what they have done
and are doing to maximise their business potential.
After morning coffee Howard Pridding presents
the BMF Review of the Year and Q&A session, after which we are
delighted to present Tim Brabants Gold and Bronze
Kayaking Medal Winner at Beijing. Simon Williams
from Weymouth and Portland will then take to the stage to bring us
up to date with the plans for the Olympics.
Lunch is served in the Concorde Suite where you can take the
opportunity to network with fellow members and of course our
special guest speakers. You also have the opportunity of visiting
the museum.
We start the afternoon with the National Boat Shows review of
the year by Andrew Williams followed by a Q&A
session.
Next comes the announcement of the BMF Training Award
Winners which celebrates outstanding achievements in both
Business and Individual categories:
- Small Company Training Award
- Large Company Training and Development Award
- Trainee/Apprentice of the Year
The winners of each category will be presented with a trophy and
£500 and be promoted throughout the year in BMF news.
The afternoon guest speaker features Richard Buchanan of
Dave, the BMF Marketing Consultancy who will present
recent research and lead onto discuss the Promotion of Boating.
Finally bringing the day to a close the prestigious
Peter Millward Memorial Award for Recognition of
Services to Associations will be presented.
BMF Exhibition and staff will be available in the Concorde Suite
where you find information on our services, boat shows and
marketing. Staff will be around during the coffee and lunch breaks
to assist with any questions.
The museum remains open until 18h00 and you are invited to visit
the world famous aviation collection which also features tanks,
military vehicles and naval exhibits.

Association AGMs
In addition to the BMF AGM a number of
Associations are planning their AGMs at the event.
BMF Central members will start the day bright
and early with their AGM before the main day starts at 09h15.
MTA, BMF East Anglia and APCO members will
break out for their AGMs at lunchtime from 13h00 – 13h15.

About the Venue
How to Get There
By Road
Take junction 10 on M11 and turn onto the A505 towards Royston.
The museum can be seen from the exit roundabout on the left.
From the M1 take junction 11 at Luton onto the eastbound A505
(towards Hitchin and Duxford) for 35 miles, the Museum is at the
M11 junction on the right.
From Northampton take the A45 east and at Thrapston take the A14
south to Cambridge and onto the M11 southbound to Junction 11.

Car Parking:
We will be found in the Airspace Conference Centre, on entering
the Duxford site turn to the left and follow the access road to the
far side of the building where you will find plenty of available
parking.
Enter the building by the main entrance taking the staircase or
lift to the first floor to our BMF reception area.
By Train
The nearest stations are Cambridge and Royston; timetables &
fares can be found www.nationalrail.co.uk
