Make use of free legal documentation

It’s our mission in the BMF to deliver high quality services, and so I get really excited when I Tamzin Matthewcome across something that really delivers a benefit to our members.

You’ll all be aware that our FirstAssist legal helpline gives you access to free legal advice on a 24/7 basis – if you’re not, then you’re missing out on one of the premier benefits of BMF membership; you can access the information via the members’ area of the website.  But, did you know that we are now offering members a new, completely free service that enables you to generate tailored legal documents for use in every area of your business?

And there’s more…… The site allows you to review and edit the documents that you’ve created and send them to a lawyer to review, completely free.    This service could save you thousands of pounds, whilst giving you the confidence that the legal documents you are using have been properly reviewed. And if you want to speak to a human being, then you can use the helpline and talk things through.  This makes it easy for every member, however small or short of funds, to protect themselves against legal disputes and difficulties, quickly, efficiently and without fuss.

As I said, I’m really excited about this development.  In fact so enthusiastic about it that I’m holding the first of a series of workshops on basic employment Law, using the FirstAssist materials from the website, and demonstrating exactly how easy the system is to use.  This first workshop is already sold out, but there will be more, so watch this space……..

Dear Tamzin
That service looks very useful, I'm sure that at some stage we will make use of it.

Re: Make use of free legal doc
This is a most welcome facility.

I think there also used to be RYA or SBBNF standard Charter Party Agreements for Bareboat and Crewed charters. Is there any possibility these could be added in future please?

Many thanks
Chris

Hi Roger,
All the documentation can be downloaded via the publications area. You can access this via the above link.

Thanks,
Becky
Re: Make use of free legal doc
Hi Chris, we do have a bareboat or crewed charterparty agreement, which is usually available via the MLA only. However, I am e-mailing you a copy.

Best wishes,

Tamzin
