New Event Toolkit for BMF Members
Published on 16/8/2012
Following the success of regional events (such as On The Water Dartmouth & Poole Afloat), we encourage all BMF Regional and Group Associations to host their own water-based or land-based events. Starter Sessions are an excellent introduction to boating and watersports, allowing people with little experience, specialist kit or skills to just turn up and have a go.
In order to help you host your own events, we have launched an Event Toolkit, which is exclusive to members. This provides a selection of resources to help you promote your events and is designed to help you reduce the costs and workload in planning and hosting boating events, as well as benefiting from our marketing channels and partnerships.
The toolkit includes:
* Leaflet & Poster Template (Pre-Event)
Use these flyers and posters to promote your event to potential visitors in your local area or your customer database. The front side of the flyer contains the details of your event and you can customise the title, dates, venue, main body and contact details.
* Leaflet (Post Event)
As visitors leave your event, use this handy A6 leaflet - it explains how easy it is to go boating and it offers advice on where event visitors can get more information about getting started in boating at www.onthewater.co.uk
* Press Release Template
One of the easiest ways to promote your event is to let the media know what you are doing with a press release. Use this guide to write a press release and send to your local media contacts.
* Website & Email Banners (Static & Rotating)
Add a web banner to your website and share this informative online guide with your website visitors. Web banners are available in a variety of sizes and come in two formats - static banners and rotating banners.
If you apply through your Association, we may provide you with a certificate of cover including but not limited to public liability insurance.
Note: As a reminder, if you are planning to host an event, you need to include event details in your association budget application
