Marine Supply Chain Networking Event and Apprentice Awards

The BMF is pleased to announce that it will be holding a Marine Supply Chain Networking Event combined with the Apprentice Awards at the PSP Southampton Boat Show on Tuesday 18September 2012.

This event is an excellent networking opportunity and is part of the ongoing BMF commitment to develop closer collaboration and effective business relationships within the UK marine industry among boatbuilders, equipment manufacturers and their suppliers.

The evening will start with the Apprentice graduation awards which are an opportunity for all those who have completed their apprenticeship to be recognised by their peers, their employer and the wider industry. Each qualified apprentice in attendance will receive a certificate of achievement from the British Marine Federation.

At this event we will also launch the ‘£150,000 Centro Marine Apprenticeship Challenge’ where The British Marine Federation together with the National Apprenticeship Service have secured £150,000 for leisure marine SME’s to take on their first three apprentices. 100 grants of £1500 are on offer to marine businesses.

The BMF will also provide details of a significant bid we have submitted for funding to support the Marine Supply Chain. This bid is to the Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative run by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and we will outline our objectives and timeline.
