New Media Partner for On The Water

Published on 23/8/2012

On The Water, the British Marine Federation's (BMF) initiative that aims to inspire more people to get on the water, is delighted to announce that it has teamed up with First News.

First News, the UK’s only newspaper for young people, will now work alongside On The Water to inspire Britain’s children, families and schools to get started in boating.

On The Water (OTW) has taken advertorial space in First News’ weekly newspaper, which is Britain’s widest read children’s publication with a weekly readership of over 1 million, 7-14 year olds.

BMF Members will be promoted through the On The Water campaign with a creative competition to educate children about the many activities they can get involved in with http://www.onthewater.co.uk/. This is another member benefit as it will drive new and potential customers to members while signposting further OTW news.

A competition will be promoted in First News' newspaper, website and email newsletter as well as the On The Water and PSP Southampton Boat Show 2012 websites. School children will design a boat and submit their designs by email for judging. The best design will receive a 5-day RYA dinghy sailing course for beginners courtesy of Rockley Watersports, who will also judge the best design.
