Obituary: Mark Funnell

Mark Funnell (49), owner of Hardy Marine of North Walsham, a well known Norfolk businessman and highly regarded in the Marine Industry suddenly passed away on Wednesday 26th September at his factory.
Mark had just returned from the PSP Southampton Boat Show in a positive mood as the show had produced some very promising results. His daughter Harriet was also at the show with her father, and now, together with her grandfather, Len Funnell, are currently holding the fort at North Walsham with an extremely able and loyal work force. Mark and the staff at Hardy Marine had a great mutual respect for each other and all of them are determined to realise Mark’s dreams.
Mark grew up in Grimsby and attended the Waltham Toll Bar school. He moved to Norfolk to join his father in the boating industry at the age of 18. His daughter Georgina still lives in Grimsby.
Mark leaves behind his two daughter’s Harriet (21) and Georgina (17) and his parents Len and Hazel.
The open service will be held on Wednesday 10 October, 4pm at St Mary’s Church, St Mary’s Close, Wroxham, NR12 8SG. It is requested; no suits, casual dress please. The wake is to be held at the Hotel Wroxham, The Bridge, Wroxham, NR12 8AJ from 5pm, all welcome
