Grand Opening of a New Maritime Training & Medical Centre

BMF member Universal Marine Medical is pleased to announce the grand opening of the new Maritime Training & Medical Facility in the heart of the port of Southampton. 

There will be a full vaccination service for crew and staff working at the port, including seasonal flu vaccinations, shingles, yellow fever and a wide range of other travel related services.  There will also be two MCA registered doctors, who will be carrying out various crew medicals including ENG1 certificates and other occupational related services.

The training department will be running medical training courses, which will include HSE first aider, AED (Automated External Defibrillation) and more advanced courses for crew and the marine industry.

As well as the medical facility, maritime training will be running under the direction of Chris Slade (CS Maritime Training) who will be offering the full range of RYA courses.

Paul Slade, Managing Director, said: “We have been planning this project for the past three years and are now very excited to have at long last been able to achieve this goal.  The facility will bring together under one roof various services that will enhance our current offering to existing clients and new ones.”
