The British Marine Federation (BMF) is delighted to announce that members can now benefit from one hour free consultancy advice via our new Dredging & Marine Works Consents Hotline, provided by Marina Projects Ltd.

Marina Projects Ltd has been supporting the BMF for over six years providing a range of advice relating to dredging consents, other consents for marine works and input to a full range of related legislative consultations such as the Marine Bill.

Marina Projects Ltd provides a range of services to the marina and property industries covering all aspects of marina design, waterfront development and operational management. Their services and experience cover elements from feasibility studies through to master planning, project delivery and operational management. The principles of the company have over 60 years combined experience of working within the marine leisure sector.

Providing an understanding of the environmental designations which can impact upon development proposals and ensuring the integrity of the environment in which many of their customers operate is a key goal.

They have considerable experience of the complex coastal and marine legislation regime and the associated environmental assessment process. We have coordinated multi-disciplined specialist teams and project managed the delivery of environmental assessments to support the necessary project approval process.

The hotline service to BMF members will provide preliminary advice to cover issues such as:

  • General guidance on marine consenting issues including dredging
  • Outline of the range of marine consents and legislation that is likely to impact upon specific activities
  • Consultation requirements
  • Providing an understanding of the environmental designations which can impact upon marine works and/or development proposals
  • Summary of relevant environmental assessment legislation and requirements including Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Appropriate Assessment (AA)
  • Guidance on protecting your business from neighbouring development proposals and activities
