David took up the role of Member Support Services Director in 2009. Overseeing the membership, technical and environment services provided by the BMF, David’s role was created as part of the Federation’s modernisation strategy.
David has worked in the marine industry for over 15 years, starting out as a Design Assistant and Boat Builder at Ovington Marine. After a spell overseas as a Production Manager in Auckland, New Zealand and then as a Naval Architect in The Netherlands, David returned to the UK and progressed through the ranks at DEVONPORT Yachts, where he left as Principal Naval Architect.
David’s vast experience of the marine industry has proved invaluable when providing BMF members with advice and support. David’s specialist knowledge in all aspects of Superyacht related technical questions has expanded the experience of the technical team and added another dimension to the BMF as a whole.
David has enjoyed sailing a variety of yachts in his spare time, both cruising and sailing and was also a crew member on the winning Farr 38 in the New Zealand National Championship. This on water activity has recently been put on hold to allow for suitable play time with his young son.
