ENVIRONMENTAL CODE OF PRACTICE

Environment Management System Service

In May 2008, the British Marine Federation (BMF) gained certification to phase 5 of the BS8555 Environment Management System (EMS) standard for their activities as a trade association.

The British standard provides guidance to organisations seeking to implement a formal Environmental Management System, for example ISO 14001.  The standard is targeted at SMEs and it is for that reason the BMF decided to lead the way, showcasing our achievements and acting as a template for our members so they too can deliver an EMS within their organisation, no matter what size of business they are.

This BMF guidance will not provde businesses with a third party certification, nor is it a replacement for the BS8555 standard, however it will provide our members with the tools to demonstrate effective management of their business within the environment.

To access any of the following areas, you must be a BMF member and log in.
