ENVIRONMENTAL CODE OF PRACTICE
External Organisation
The complexity of the marine and inland water environment means
that a number of agencies are involved. National legislation sets
requirements and consents that are enforced by the nature
conservation and environmental agencies. Devolution has meant that
legislation may be applied slightly differently across the UK.
Local authorities, land drainage boards and landowners also have a
variety of responsibilities. This section outlines some of the
relevant responsibilities that the different organisations
have.
