ENVIRONMENTAL CODE OF PRACTICE
Non-Hazardous Waste Management
If the waste is not hazardous then it can be taken to a
non-hazardous waste site under normal Duty
of Care requirements. Appropriate analysis may be required in
order to assess the properties of the waste and assess whether it
is hazardous or not. A judgment may need to be made based on the
analysis - this may need to be made by a suitably competent person
(environmental consultant etc), for example to determine
anti-fouling content of residues from wash down practices, which is
dealt with in the boat washdown
section.
