Ensure your online marketing communications are compliant with
new ASA regulations
From 1 March 2011, the Advertising Standards Authority
(ASA) has extended its remit to cover marketing communications on a
company’s own website or other non-paid-for space such as blogs,
communities or social networking sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn
and Twitter. However, many online public relations activities are
excluded.
The newly extended remit of the code will impact every business
(registered in the UK at Companies House) with a website or using
social media for online marketing communications and promotional
activity.
The BMF has produced the following synopsis to help Members
remain compliant across its online marketing communications.
