This annual report commissioned by BMF, MCA, RNLI, RYA, BCU and MMO details participation and ownership for 12 boating activities in 2013 and reports trends over twelve years. This report also includes return of wider water-based leisure activities.

The full report provides more detailed trends since 2002 and results to a wider set of questions. This includes trends in demographics, frequency and home / abroad participation and location of residence, and also presents coastal/inland and seasonal activity, household boat ownership, charter/hire, and more.

Economic Benefits of UK Boating Tourism 2014

This new report builds on the previous studies on Economic Benefits of Marinas and Boating to provide an assessment on the  size, importance and economic contribution of boating-related tourism in the UK, including the expenditure of boaters on the water.  It covers the impact of marinas, charter, hire, sea schools/training and passenger boats.

It outlines all tourism related spend and impacts for individual leisure boating sub-sectors and activities for both day visits and those involving an overnight stay at a total UK and regional level.
