Dubai International Boat Show
Companies praise Superyacht UK pavilion at record breaking
Dubai International Boat Show 2008
16 companies exhibited in the
Superyacht UK pavilion at the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS)
this year, with all reporting strong interest and growth in the
Middle East Marine Market.
Running from 11-15 March at Dubai
International Marine Club, the 16th edition of the Show has
registered an overall 20 percent growth in floor space.
Approximately 400 boats took advantage of this extra room - a
record breaking figure for the Show, which has firmly established
its position as the number one event in the region.
Superyacht UK, an association of
the British Marine Federation, has members representing the full
spectrum of Superyacht activity from design, build and equipment to
services. A selection of these companies were showcased
within the Superyacht UK pavilion located in the Luxury Services
& Supplies tent at the Show.
Sarah Dhanda from the British
Marine Federation commented on the relationship between Superyacht
UK and the Show: "Many of the exhibiting companies have enjoyed
expanding on their experiences of the 2007 Show. DIBS' success only
highlights the excellent capabilities of the UK Superyacht sector.
We have received extremely positive feedback from exhibitors, whom
are enthusiastic regarding the future of the market."
A new exhibitor at the Show,
Flagship Superyacht Academy had a successful introduction to the
market. John Watts, International Sales Manager explained:
"This first visit to the Dubai Show has proved very successful for
Flagship Superyacht Academy. We have experienced a positive
response form both business and trade contacts as well as
consumers. Visitors to the Superyacht UK pavilion have also
included representatives from other countries who are looking for
assistance with their Superyacht training."
Neil Hornsby, Charter Director of
Oceanstyle and Burgess, exhibited for the second time: "Our
affiliation with Superyacht UK has once again proved a very
successful combination. There is clearly a lot of
energy in the yacht market here in Dubai so it has been an
excellent opportunity for Oceanstyle and Burgess to showcase our
yachts and promote our joint brands to the visitors. Being
part of the Pavilion provided a good focus to entice clients to our
corner of the Show."
DEVONPORT was also building on its
successful first experience at the Show in 2007. Alison
Bushell, Client Manager said: "DEVONPORT had a very successful and
busy show with a lot of interest in their current new build
projects. lass=SpellE>WSignificantly, DEVONPORT'S new ONE TEN
project, a 108 metre Redman Whiteley Dixon Design was launched at
the Show, generating much excitement. The Superyacht UK pavilion
was well organised and DEVONPORT would certainly participate again
in this rapidly expanding business area."
