ISO TC228 WG8 - Meeting 1

The working group made excellent progress during its first meeting, agreeing in principle the title, Introduction, scope, basic terms, general requirements and minimum service provisions for boat and yacht harbours.

The working group agreed that the minimum service provisions must be practical and achievable for any marina around the world.  For example, under the service provision of “potable water”, it will simply be the requirement to demonstrate that adequate drinking water is provided on site.  This could be from the mains water supply or via the sale of bottled water.

No management standards or processes would be set within this working group, only the requirement to demonstrate clear job descriptions of all members of staff responsible for general areas of site management, e.g. Health and safety, HR, environment management etc.
