International Maritime Organisation (IMO)
The BMF is a member of the International Council of Marine
Industry Associations, ICOMIA, who hold a consultative seat at
the International Maritime Organisation, IMO. On our behalf ICOMIA
has a representative who attends IMO meetings and reports on issues
which will potentially affect our industry.
The ICOMIA representative attends a number of high level IMO
committee meetings including the Marine Environmental Protection
Committee, Maritime Safety Committee and their respective
sub-committees. Following each meeting the representative produces
a comprehensive report on the discussion and any issues that could
potentially impact our industry.
