Certification
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years managerial experience with the last
five years up until the time of this application being within the
Marina Industry (it is understood that Yacht Clubs are part of the
Marina Industry) either:
a. within a Marina Operation including:
- engineering
- finance
- design
- marketing
- Senior Manager
or
b. within a Marina Construction & Development company
- Pontoons
- Dry stack
- Membership of an appropriate professional body or trade
association (e.g. BMF or MIAA)
- Completion of Advanced Marina Management School within the past
5 years
- Evidence of your business/companies position within the marina
industry including at least two successful projects or activities
the business/company has carried out within the marina industry
within the last five years
- Submission of a 5000 word Management report on a topic provided to you by GMI. You will be
provided with a choice of three topics that relate to your
experience within the marina industries, examples of topics are
listed below:
- Strategies to stimulate yacht club membership.
- Evaluation of environmental control practices against other
practical marina issues
- Importance of design in the marina day to day operation.
- Defining the right level of security in a marina and making users
be aware of it.
- Strategies for delivering new customers to the Marina and its
tenants
- Expanding a Marina – the challenges and opportunities
