Managing Your Cashflow

A highly interactive half-day workshop and business simulation targeted at small to medium enterprise businesses. The emphasis will be on learning by doing and all delegates will be encouraged to interact, participate and feedback throughout the session. This session specifically addresses issues around financial planning, forecasting, cash flow management, margin, cost control, breakeven, financial reporting and access to finance.

Session Objectives:                

  • To challenge delegates to consider their existing financial abilities and levels of financial planning
  • To produce accurate breakeven and forecasting models
  • To explain gross margins and how they affect profit
  • To build and produce accurate cash flow models
  • To better manage debtors and creditors
  • To anticipate the requirements of lenders or investors
  • To complete an action plan that can be taken back and implemented within the workplace

The Course will cover:

  • Cash Flow:
    - Difference  between profit & loss and cash flow
    - Building a cash flow forecast that works
    - How to manage your cash flow

 

  • The 1% rule and what to do about it
  • Dealing with banks – moving or staying with your bank – your experiences through the last twelve months
  • Understanding your annual accounts and what bankers ratios you need to know about
  • Grants for your business and how to get them
  • Planning your next steps – you will leave with a “Now, Soon and Later” Action Plan.
