According to British Marine's latest Sentiment Poll, UK marine businesses remain upbeat, despite a challenging economic climate driven by high inflation and growing public concern regarding the prospect of recession.

The MCA has released a public consultation with industries views sought for MGN 657 (M+F) Requirements for Aerosol Fixed Fire Suppression Systems for use in Small Vessel Machinery which publishes the test requirements for future approvals of these systems and requires that tests are witnessed by an Approved Body appointed by the MCA.

Last month saw the return of the Scottish Parliment Cross Party Group on Recreational Boating and Marine Tourism. The group had to be re-registered following the Scottish Parliament election earlier this year and we are delighted to report that the Cross Party Group on Recreational Boating and Marine Tourism will again continue. Stuart McMillan MSP will continue as Convenor with a new vice-convenor Elena Whitham MSP (for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley).
