Published on: 29 August 2019Over the past year, British Marine Sailing and British Marine Leisure Boating have been working actively together. In advance of the outcomes of the Association Working Group, British Marine's Council and Board have approved that these two associations may enact a formal merger and a new association called British Marine Access to Boating Association will be formed and launched at Southampton International Boat Show, powered by Borrow A Boat.
British Marine Access to Boating Association will exist to support and grow the businesses of British Marine members whose primary purpose is to deliver boating experiences to consumers through rental, charter, training and holidays. Through the sector’s direct relationship with the boating customer it will provide feedback to British Marine, identifying the impact of member activities on participation through insights, data and case studies whilst also testing new product offers that promote access and grow participation.
All British Marine members will have the opportunity to join the association, if their business falls within this remit.
British Marine members falling within the categories, can opt into the new association by visiting this link. This should take no more than one minute of your time.
Please note, British Marine Leisure Boating and British Marine Sailing associations are to be dissolved therefore current association members must opt into the new association.
The association will be launched at Southampton International Boat Show, powered by Borrow A Boat at the Quarterdeck on Thursday 19 September at 8:30am. The event will provide a great opportunity to network with marine industry colleagues and to hear about the remit of the new association.
