British Marine Expo is the flagship trade event for the Association and is a 'must attend' for Britain’s marine professionals from across the sector. Tickets for our new flagship trade event go on sale this Monday, the two-day packed programme comprising of training sessions, association events, seminars and networking opportunities. Whether you’re a manufacturer, service provider or retailer, in the superyacht, leisure or small commercial sector, there is something for everyone.
Tuesday 26 March
Training and Association events now added to the programme include a range of British Marine associations and groups running events at British Marine Expo, starting with a joint event on Tuesday 26 March run by British Marine Leisure Boating (BMLB) and British Marine Sailing which will discuss a host of topics presented by a variety of engaging speakers. It will be rounded off by the presentation of the highly coveted Customer Service Award followed by networking drinks with professionals from the leisure boating and sailing industries. British Marine Commercial Marine will run an afternoon of presentation and networking on the first day. Lesley Chantler, Head of Curriculum at Brockenhurst College will deliver a talk on Apprenticeships. This is followed by a presentation from Alasdair Reay, HPi Verification Services on CE marketing. The event will be rounded off by networking drinks and all British Marine members are welcome to attend.
The first day of the British Marine Expo 2019 will also see representatives from British Marine member companies take to the stage; speaking on a range of training topics from sales, marketing and communications to insurance and employer skills.
Gita and Geoff Langston from GL Connects will kick off with a session on understanding what motivates team members and remain with their employers to become the best they can be followed by a session with Sarah Leverton, Managing Director of Fastnet Marketing covering how any marine business can increase their customer base to sell a product or service. The morning programme will conclude with Keith Lovett from MS Amlin who deliver a session on ‘Insurance and the Perfect Storm’ providing an insight into marine insurance and new challenges the industry faces.
The afternoon programme will start with Kate O’Sullivan and Sophie Foyle from ADPR who will deliver a course on creating an impactful communication campaign. Gita and Geoff Langston from GL Connects will follow with an interactive session on engaging customers to boost your retail sales in an everchanging retail environment. The last training session of the day will be led by CSW Group who will provide an insight on how to obtain a training needs analysis for your business and support in accessing free training for your employees.
Wednesday 27 March
On the second day British Marine Expo will deliver another stimulating range of association and regional events. British Marine Engines and Equipment will host their committee meeting starting at 10am which is followed by a networking lunch this is open to all members of the Association. British Marine South will deliver a presentation of hot topics including the Consumer Rights Act, Brexit and apprenticeships. This afternoon session will be followed by networking drinks and nibbles, again open to all British Marine members.
