The environment to take centre stage at the Expo

Kate Fortnam will deliver an engaging presentation on the joint British Marine and RYA initiative, The Green Blue, followed by a presentation from James Scott-Anderson on year two of British Marine’s Environment Pledge at Southampton Boat Show. This is a free to attend event for British Marine members titled, British Marine - 'Driving Environmental Change'  will take place on the second day, British Marine Expo, in association with HPi Verification Services on Wednesday 27 March 2019. Kate will present an overview of The Green Blue and what the focus is for its environmental campaigns throughout 2019. Kate will provide a reminder and overview of the free tools on offer to British Marine members and specific advice on commercial environmental friendliness. The presentation will be rounded off with a look to the future of The Green Blue and the introduction of the new website which is due to be launched this year.

British Marine’s James Scott-Anderson will then outline the Association’s three-year Environment Pledge which was launched at Southampton Boat Show 2018.

Unveiling year two of the Pledge, James will discuss the targets for the 2019 Show which focuses on eight main areas: Plastics / Paper / Catering / Waste & Recycling / Our Home/ Travel / Access / Education & Awareness. James will also demonstrate how this ties into The Green Blue’s objectives.
