British Marine members had a successful night at the Motor Boat & Yachting Awards 2019, which took place on Tuesday (7 May) at the Corinthia Hotel, London. In total, six British Marine members picked up awards or were commended for their boats.
Cockwells was highly commended in the Superboats category with the Cockwells Titian Tender. Founder and Managing Director, Dave Cockwell, stated: “I am pleased that she has achieved Highly Commended in this hotly-contested industry awards scheme, closer to home, following Motor Boat & Yachting’s rigorous sea trial and testing by the magazine’s technical experts.”
Fairline Yachts won the Sportscruiser up to 45ft category with the Fairline Targa 43 Open. David Tydeman, CEO & Chairman at Fairline Yachts, commented, “The Motor Boat & Yachting Awards are one of the UK’s most highly anticipated boating celebrations and we’re humbled to have received this much-coveted recognition by the esteemed judging panel.”
Sunseeker won the Sportscruiser over 45ft category with the Sunseeker Predator 50. On accepting the award, Sunseeker CEO, Christian Marti said: “We are thrilled to have won this award and it underlines our ability to keep giving our customers the best in class across every segment we operate in.”
Princess Yachts won the Flybridges up to 60ft category with the Princess 55. Kiran Haslam, Marketing Director at Princess Yachts, said: "The F50 sets a new standard for us and the market for flybridges at this size, so whilst we enjoyed celebrating the F55's award, we know that the addition of the F50 to our F Class range moves the game on even further."
TBS Boats Penton Hook was recognised for its customer service with the highly sought after Customer Service Award. Chris Manners, Joint Founder and Managing Director at TBS Boats Penton Hook commented: “‘At TBS Boats Penton Hook we all pride ourselves on striving to achieve excellent levels of customer service and understand the need to ensure customer satisfaction without compromise.”
Jeanneau won the Sportsboats and RIBs category with the Jeanneau Cap Camarat 9.0. Merry De La Poeze, Jeanneau Powerboat Marketing Director commented, “Jeanneau is proud to receive this amazing award. The Cap Camarat 9.0 represents a truly seductive model with her very elegant design. Stable and powerful, her V-shaped hull is designed by Michaël Peters. She ensures excellent seakeeping and very secure handling at sea for family cruising or sporty outings. This prestigious award underscores the tremendous work realised by the Jeanneau team and Sarrazin Design Office.”
