Maritime UK is adapting to the new way of working, especially in the promotion of careers for the maritime industry. It is instigating a series of webinar lessons to reach out to the captive audience of school children who are currently learning from home.

The intention is to run these at 1pm each Monday. The first two have been delivered and they are looking for wider interest and support from the sector.

There are two methods of getting involved, either a pre-recorded video that will be uploaded here followed by a live Zoom Q&A or you could run the lesson live on Zoom.

The team at Maritime UK will make all the logistical arrangements, all they need from you is what you would like to do a lesson on, anything from the marine sector would be welcomed.

They also need to know the age group your lesson would be aimed at, so it can be marketed appropriately.

To give you an idea of how this works, we have linked you to the video of the first lesson given by Jamie Bullar from the LNS here, this one is aimed at key stage 4/5.

Blue Davies, Head of Training at British Marine comments: “This is a great opportunity to promote the marine sector and engage a new audience. Please keep me posted on your plans through”
