Following British Marine’s request to the Environment Agency for clarification on its phased reopening of its waterways, including the River Thames, Anglian waterways and the Upper Medway Navigation, it is good news that guidance has been published with dates of open waterways and dates of pre-opening surveys.
In response to and in line with revised Government COVID-19 guidance, the Environment Agency is working hard to ensure that the non-tidal River Thames is safe for navigation, and that lock breakdowns and obstructions to navigation are now dealt with, as quickly as possible.
The latest guidance can be found on the Environment Agency waterways coronavirus update page, and this will be updated regularly with all updates and information.
