British Marine member Eyemouth Marine Ltd has announced that it has received approval from the Society of Consulting Marine Engineers and Ship Surveyors (SCMS) to build GRP boats from its newly refurbished building.

This important announcement is part of the ongoing redevelopment of Eyemouth Marine Ltd. The largely new team has been preparing, through extensive training, and is excited to be building new boats at Brownbank for the first time in over 12 years.

The team is currently looking at both existing and new designs and hopes to start building the first boat in the next few months.

There is a lot of excitement in the yard and Technical Manager, Norman Thomson who is in charge of training and new builds, commented: “It is really encouraging to see how the workforce has got behind this idea, pulled together and put their all into the training and the build out of our new premises. I feel positive about the future here.”
