British Marine has committed to better understand the changes to our market and identify new approaches to sustain and grow the leisure boating and watersports industry.
The first stage of this work was to understand what is currently happening within leisure boating and watersports and in the broader social context and therefore the Future Customers project was commissioned by British Marine to examine four main areas:
- Social context – what is happening in the wider world that will affect future boating and watersports participation
- Statistics – what the numbers tell us now about boating, watersports and other outdoor activities
- Emerging themes – what are the trends that will influence boating and watersports participation
- Benchmarking and recommendations – what data gaps are there and what needs doing to provide a clear picture for the industry to act upon
