Members may be aware from reading previous editions of Latest News that the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) is holding a statutory consultation on its Marine Plans.
The consultation includes draft marine plans which cover the North East, North West, South East, South West and the picture nationally.
The MMO is hosting webinars to explain the consultation process and the draft Marine Plans. British Marine would encourage anyone with an interest to take part and provide feedback before the closing date.
The feedback will be carefully considered and incorporated into the Marine Plans. It is possible that the finalised versions could impact your day-to-day operations, which is why it is important to have your say and respond to the consultation and members can respond online using the MMO’s Citizen Space consultation tool.
Each webinar will run for an hour and cover the following topics:
- An introduction to the MMO
- An introduction to Marine Planning and the journey so far
- The consultation and how to respond
- Implementation and how to use the plans
The webinars are open to any individual or organisation and do not require any downloads or additional software. There are now two webinars which members can attend:
11/2/20 10:30-11:30 for the North East
13/2/20 10:30-11:30 for the South East
If there are a number of people from the same organisation joining a webinar, the MMO asks that you register as a single participant. To take part, please register using Eventbrite and the joining details will be emailed to you.
