British Marine is the trading name of British Marine Federation Limited, the member association for the leisure, superyacht and small commercial marine industry and the organiser of the London Boat Show and TheYachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show. Details of our governance structure can be found below.

Council

Council is the national governing body of British Marine and provides strategic direction to British Marine’s Management Board. It debates and decides topics of national significance to industry, as well as issues raised by the Regional and Group Associations and Service Committees. Council is comprised of:

  • President
  • President-Elect
  • Treasurer
  • Immediate Past President
  • Past Immediate Past President
  • Chairmen of the Regional and Group Associations
  • Chairmen of the Service Committees
  • British Marine Chief Executive

Council is responsible for electing the Management Board.

British Marine Board of Directors

The Board acts as British Marine’s Board of Directors for British Marine Federation Limited and it's group companies, and is responsible for the planning, managing and supervision of the business. The Board comprises of:

Alan is a Chartered Management Accountant with over 25 years involvement and contribution to British Marine. This has included the role of President of British Marine and Chairman of British Marine Boat Shows.

Relevant Work Experience
Alice has over 25 years’ experience in providing communications, marketing and public relations services to the UK and international marine industry. Her skill set includes: strategic business planning, internal and external communications, media relations, content creation and digital communications, brand creation and development, market research and crisis communications.

Alice also has experience running a successful consultancy business including financial management, human resources and staff development.

Relevant Work Experience

Anthony has been involved with the marine industry all of his working life, starting with his family’s boatbuilding company which exported to all corners of the world. The family also owned a large boat hire company and operated fleets on the Broads, Thames, and also overseas in France, Holland and Germany.

 

More recently, Anthony has headed up a marine equipment distribution company which sells two main product ranges from Webasto heating and air conditioning, and Side Power Bow and Stern Thrusters and Stabilisers.

 

Having been involved in the running of the above businesses, as well as others outside of the marine industry, Anthony has an extensive skill set specific and suitable to running a business.
