25 July 2025

The leading global synthetic decking provider, Flexiteek International, has been recognised as one of the top 15% of businesses in the world for sustainability.

They have received a new silver EcoVadis rating for 2025–2026 to recognise the work done to improve their businesses processes and products with the introduction of the bio-attributed Flexiteek 3 decking range launched in November 2024 at Metstrade.

EcoVadis is a globally recognised independent platform that assesses companies in areas such as Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Using these areas, they provide a detailed assessment of companies’ sustainability performance.

Flexiteek Group CEO, Adam Ramsden, commented, “This achievement reflects the strength of our evolving sustainability management system and product range and our ongoing commitment to transparency and responsible business practices across the company. But we still have a way to go on our journey, and we are confident we will continue to strive for excellence.”

Assessment by EcoVadis, provides independent validation, helping drive meaningful improvements, allowing Flexiteek to reach their sustainability objectives on a global scale.

Flexiteek has been developing a number of sustainability initiatives across their business. They recycle over 80% of the water used in the product cooling process and actively recycle waste material into other products. Their location in Fagersta in Sweden uses ground source heat pumps and solar panels and can store energy for use when needed. Along with the installation of EV chargers, energy saving lighting and responsible energy supplier sourcing, the business is taking steps to make further improvements in the future.

Flexiteek started their EcoVadis journey in 2023 as part of a wider commitment by businesses across the marine sector to create transparency around resilient, sustainable supply chain practices.

EcoVadis is a global company that, at the beginning of 2024, had assessed over 130,000+ companies across 180+ countries and 220+ industries, and is one of the most trusted sustainability rating providers in the world.
