Looking back on another extraordinary year for British Marine
5 June 2025

As British Marine’s 2024/25 membership period comes to an end, we’ve taken a look back over the past 12 months and reflect on what has been, once again, another incredibly busy and productive year on behalf of our members.

Our 24/25 Annual Review, which was published last week, provides just a snapshot of some of the achievements we have made to ensure members are represented and supported at the highest level.

A major standout was the Southampton International Boat Show 2024, which attracted over 100,000 visitors. The show set a new benchmark for visitor experience with a redesigned marina, extended entertainment into the evening, and enhanced interactive exhibits.

Business-led features such as Trade Tuesday and the Women in Marine networking day were sold out, sparking essential discussions around innovation, leadership and inclusivity.

Beyond our flagship show, British Marine delivered several highly focused industry gatherings, including the Superyacht UK Technical Seminar and the British Marine Coastal and Inland Conferences. These brought together key figures from across the sector, enabling commercial opportunities and informing British Marine’s advocacy work.

Skills and training remained a priority during 24/25, with continued delivery of Intermediate and Advanced Marina Management courses, and the Practical Yacht Broker course delivered in partnership with ABYA. British Marine also maintained its position as an OFQUAL-recognised End Point Assessment organisation, supporting five marine apprenticeship standards.

In response to changing global trade conditions, we also launched a new International Marine Trade Hub this year, providing members with vital guidance on tariffs, customs, and market access to help them stay competitive internationally.

These are just a selection of some of the areas of work we have been so proud to deliver on behalf of the industry.

British Marine could not do this work without our members and so at this time, where we look to welcome back members for another year, we thank each and every one for their support and look forward to working with you all over the next year.
