9 June 2026

As Scanstrut celebrates its 40th anniversary and marks its 9th year of Scanstrut Inc., its US operation, the company has announced the appointment of Sean Hatherley to the newly created role of Sales Manager, Americas and Director of Global Sales.

Hatherley brings more than 30 years of marine industry experience to the position, including the last decade serving as Head of Sales for the Americas at Navico Group, where he led a high-performing sales organisation across multiple channels and market sectors.

His extensive background spans marine and RV OEMs, wholesale distribution, major retail accounts and technical installer networks. He also brings significant experience working with independent sales representative groups throughout North America, helping manufacturers develop and execute successful go-to-market strategies.

In his new role, Hatherley will focus primarily on driving growth for the company’s American business, supporting both OEM and distribution channels.

"Sean's appointment comes at an exciting time for Scanstrut," said Tom Reed, CEO of Scanstrut. "Over the past several years, we've experienced significant growth across our marine, RV and commercial sectors. As our business continues to expand, bringing someone of Sean's calibre, experience and industry knowledge into the team allows us to strengthen our support for customers, representatives and partners while creating new opportunities for future growth."

Reed added that the appointment is part of a planned, long-term investment in the company's sales organisation.

"I remain fully committed to our US business and will continue to work closely with key OEM accounts, special projects, new product development and innovation initiatives. Sean's arrival allows us to add further capability and resource while ensuring we continue to support our customers at the highest level. This will be a phased transition throughout the year, focused on strengthening account development, supporting our rep network and identifying new opportunities across the markets we serve."

Hatherley's responsibilities will span all Scanstrut sectors, including marine, RV and commercial markets, as the company continues to expand its global footprint.

Founded in 1986, Scanstrut has become a leading international manufacturer of outdoor technologies, including waterproof wireless charging, external utility sockets, cable seals and mounting solutions for the marine, RV and commercial markets.
