Over recent months, both associations have engaged in valuable dialogue, recognising a strong alignment in areas such as sustainability, training, skills, regulation, and innovation. With a number of members already active across both yachting and business aviation, the partnership is a natural fit, offering a platform for increased collaboration, advocacy, and knowledge-sharing.
This joint initiative will focus on delivering tangible benefits for members of both associations, starting with the development of shared networking events and training opportunities, due to be announced later this year. By working more closely together, SYUK and BBGA hope to unlock new avenues for innovation and growth, while also strengthening their joint voice on key policy and regulatory matters.
BBGA MD Lindsey Oliver commented: “It’s been an exciting period of learning during our meetings with SYUK to discuss how we can help our associations and members. Naturally, we both face scrutiny from the public but both sectors are forging ahead at a fast rate in terms of sustainable fuels and technology.”
While SYUK Manager Michael Beattie added: “Since we have been liaising with Lindsey and the BBGA over the last six months it has been really interesting to hear more about how they operate and talk through the challenges that both our members face across multiple areas. It has been great to form this partnership of working together and we look to build on this and to be able to offer the opportunity for both sets of members to mix in some upcoming networking opportunities.”
Both associations look forward to building on this new relationship, with further details on joint activities and events to be shared with members later this year and into 2026.
