Whilst it is understood that businesses who play music in their offices or their other business premises, such as boatyards, are required to purchase TheMusicLicense, it has been less clear why and when marine companies should purchase it for playing music onboard their boats and, if so, which tariffs should apply.  To assist members, British Marine sought clarity from PPL PRS Ltd and, after constructive discussions with PPL’s Senior Licensing Business Development Executive.
