Tack and Jibe, the rapidly growing boat listings platform that has quickly become one of the most dynamic players in the marine marketplace, announces the appointment of Pedro Monteiro as CTO / Technical Director and newest member of its Board of Directors.

Pedro brings more than two decades of leadership in engineering, R&D, and digital transformation to the role. With an extensive career spanning global companies such as Sepura, ACRE Security, Aker Solutions, and GE Oil & Gas, Pedro has a proven track record of spearheading complex technology builds, leading large-scale teams, and delivering transformative innovation in highly demanding industries.

Known for his expertise in AI/ML, SaaS platforms, IoT/IIoT, and cloud-based architectures, Pedro has consistently enabled organisations to accelerate growth through strategic innovation and robust, scalable technology.

At Tack and Jibe, Pedro’s appointment marks a pivotal moment in the company’s journey. Since launching in January 2025, Tack and Jibe has scaled rapidly — reaching nearly 2,000 live listings in under a year — and is on track to surpass 3,000 listings by the end of its first year of trading, with projections to exceed 10,000 listings by the end of year two.

With Pedro at the helm of its technical strategy, Tack and Jibe is embarking on the development of Version 3, a fully custom interface and back-end system designed to support ambitious growth targets and deliver an even more seamless experience for boat buyers and sellers. Among its standout features, v3 will be geared for global readiness, equipping the platform to expand beyond its current UK base, support brokers across European markets, and lay the foundation for a truly worldwide marine marketplace.

With the launch of Tack and Jibe v3 planned for later this year, Pedro’s leadership will be central to ensuring the platform’s success, scalability, and ability to support both rapid listing growth and international expansion.
