Great news for employers looking to grow their workforce and develop the skills their business needs.

From 1 August 2026, apprenticeship training for 16–24-year-olds is now 100% government funded. Levy-paying employers will no longer need to make the 25% co-investment contribution, potentially saving up to £875 per apprentice.

Eligible businesses may also be able to access hiring incentives worth up to £6,000 and benefit from no employer National Insurance contributions for apprentices under the age of 25.

With these significant savings and incentives available, there has never been a better time to invest in an apprentice. It’s a cost-effective way to strengthen your workforce, address skills gaps and help develop the next generation of marine industry talent.
