British Marine have adopted the Certified Marina Operator (CMO) certification route, aligning British Marine with its Global Marina Institute (GMI), partner - Marina Industries Association (MIA).  

Thus expanding its professional certification framework alongside the existing Certified Marina Manager (CMM) and Certified Marina Professional (CMP) routes. 

The CMO certification is open to individuals who have completed their IMM and AMM qualifications and have three years’ management experience, providing an accessible alternative to the CMM and CMP routes, which require five years’ management experience. It offers formal recognition of competence and professionalism within marina operations, while also creating a clear progression pathway to the CMM and CMP certifications as experience develops.

This addition strengthens British Marine’s commitment to supporting career development across the sector, ensuring professionals at all stages have access to globally recognised certifications and structured advancement opportunities.
