20 February 2026

Mercury Marine, a division of Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC), has revealed a suite of new digital and control technologies designed to make boating more intuitive, more connected and more enjoyable for users at every level of experience.

Launched together as part of a unified innovation showcase, the new Mercury Keyless System, Boost software upgrade, Premier Joystick and DTS Performance Pedal represent a significant step forward in ease of use, performance and on-water confidence.

Reflecting Mercury’s commitment to purposeful innovation, these systems combine hardware, software and seamless digital connectivity within a single, integrated ecosystem — supporting the company’s prop‑to‑helm strategy and offering boaters reassuring simplicity backed by engineering excellence.

This coordinated launch debuts at the Miami International Boat Show, with further product‑focused storytelling continuing throughout the year.

Boost: Digital Power, Unlocked Responsibly

Boost is a new software-based engine calibration that provides a 5–21% increase in mid‑range acceleration and improved zero‑to‑top‑speed performance, giving boaters greater responsiveness without requiring physical engine modifications. Installed by authorised dealers, Boost allows owners of existing Mercury outboards to enhance performance safely and confidently through manufacturer‑approved software. Selected new outboards will also feature Boost later in the year, marking an important move toward digital-first performance upgrades.

Mercury Keyless System: Smart Access, Simple Control

Designed for modern boating lifestyles, the Mercury Keyless System gives users the ability to unlock, power up and secure their boat directly from a mobile device. Supporting both single‑ and multi‑engine set‑ups, the system integrates with SmartCraft® Connect to unify security, connectivity and control.

Offering an automotive‑inspired start‑up sequence and intuitive vessel automation, the system supports up to six engines and is compatible with 80hp+ Mercury engines on DTS-equipped boats, as well as selected mechanical throttle applications. It brings everyday convenience to life on the water, allowing boaters to focus on what matters most, getting out and enjoying the journey.

Premier Joystick: Confident Manoeuvring, Made Easier

The redesigned Premier Joystick and updated Multi‑Function Display (MFD) create a smoother, more intuitive helm experience. New features include:

  • Dockhook —  assisting the boat in maintaining position alongside a dock
  • Skyhook®  Reposition and remote helm Skyhook control
  • Extended joystick piloting capability for vessels with dual bow thrusters
  • Broader access to advanced features such as Heading Hold, Position Hold and Skyhook® for non‑joystick configurations

Together, these enhancements give boaters greater precision, stability and reassurance, particularly in tight harbours or challenging maneuvering conditions.

DTS Performance Pedal: Precision at High Speed

Completing the suite is the DTS Performance Pedal — a purpose‑built foot throttle for high‑speed, single‑engine applications. By allowing the operator to keep both hands on the wheel, the system supports safer, more confident handling at speeds of 120 km/h and above, making it ideal for bass boats and small sport boats.

The pedal features:

  • A redesigned, compact throttle input sensor
  • Premium anodised billet aluminium construction
  • Non‑slip EVA marine decking
  • An integrated toe hook for added stability and safety

Compatible with both current and legacy DTS systems, it provides precise throttle control for demanding environments where accuracy truly counts.
