The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has published Marine Guidance Note 681 Amendment 1,  an important update to the UK’s guidance on fire safety, storage and charging of small electric-powered craft and their lithium-ion batteries onboard yachts. The updated guidance was issued on 19 December 2025 and replaces the original MGN 681.
