David passed away peacefully over the weekend following a courageous battle with illness.
Throughout his career, David made a significant contribution to both the UK and international recreational marine industry.
During his time as British Marine President, he was a passionate advocate for the sector, providing strong leadership and championing the interests of the industry. David also committed many years serving on the Committee of the Marine Trades Association.
He went on to serve as Vice President of ICOMIA from 2002 to 2007, continuing his commitment to supporting the growth of recreational boating and strengthening international collaboration.
Beyond his many professional achievements, David was widely respected and admired for his warmth, generosity and friendship. He leaves behind a lasting legacy, having inspired and supported countless colleagues across the marine industry over many years.
Our thoughts are with David's wife, family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him during this difficult time.
David will be greatly missed, and his contribution to British Marine, the wider marine industry and the international boating community will be remembered with gratitude and respect.
