British Marine members and industry innovators came together at the Electric Narrowboat Show - Electrika 2026 - for two days of networking, innovation and discussion on the future of electric propulsion.

A scorching 33-degree day did little to deter visitors and exhibitors at Electrika 2026 on Friday 10 July, the UK's dedicated Electric Narrowboat Show. The show provided an excellent opportunity for Nickie Sanders, British Marine Association Manager to catch up with members, explore the latest developments in electric propulsion and energy management, and engage with potential new members from across the inland waterways sector.

The atmosphere throughout the show was energetic and positive, with exhibitors showcasing a wide range of products and solutions supporting the transition towards cleaner, more sustainable boating.

The event was a fantastic opportunity to catch up with many valued British Marine members, including Ovation Boats, Lynch Motor Company, Blade Solutions, Energy Solutions, Beta Marine, Golden Arrow Marine, and Krueger/Eberspächer, among others. Conversations focused on current market trends, technological developments, business challenges, and the growing interest in alternative propulsion systems across the inland waterways market.

Beyond reconnecting with familiar faces, the show also provided the chance to meet several prospective members and discuss how British Marine can support businesses operating within this evolving sector. The increasing focus on electrification and sustainable technologies highlights the importance of collaboration across the industry as businesses adapt to changing customer expectations and environmental requirements.

Events such as Electrika play an important role in bringing together manufacturers, suppliers, boat builders, and service providers to share knowledge, demonstrate innovation, and build valuable relationships. The show once again demonstrated the strength of the inland marine businesses and its commitment to embracing new technologies.
