Leading Ardrossan tourism company Clyde Marina Ltd, one of Scotland’s largest marina and boatyard facilities, is proud to announce the signing of a Heads of Terms agreement with Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL). The agreement secures the future of the Ardrossan boatyard and facilitates the next phase of growth at Ardrossan Harbour.
Following CMAL’s recent acquisition of Ardrossan Harbour, the company has long-term plans to extensively redevelop the Arran ferry terminal and wider harbour infrastructure. As part of these plans, Clyde Marina and CMAL, in conjunction with the Peel Waters Group UK Ltd, have reached an agreement that provides certainty for the marina’s continued operation within the harbour.
The agreement will help strengthen Ardrossan Harbour’s role in Scotland’s vibrant marine tourism sector, while extending the economic benefits generated by the marina to the local community.
Clyde Marina’s managing director, Simon Limb, said: “We welcome CMAL’s very positive approach to working with the marina, to secure the growth and development of the harbour area as a whole, continuing Ardrossan’s maritime heritage for many years to come.
“We understand that the ferry facility’s redevelopment will be complex. Clyde Marina and its boatyards will continue to operate normally throughout this period, enhancing North Ayrshire’s tourism economy and supporting local businesses.”
Kevin Hobbs, chief executive of CMAL, said: “This agreement marks an important step in securing the long-term future of Clyde Marina within Ardrossan Harbour. It reflects our shared commitment to supporting sustainable growth and investment in the harbour, while recognising the valuable contribution the marina makes to the local economy and wider community.”
