Garmin is pleased to introduce an update to its inReach suspend option, offering free SOS access for up to 12 months even when a subscription is suspended.

For smartwatches with inReach, such as quatix 8 pro and fenix 8 pro, users can try any plans with a 30-day free trial. They can also suspend their service at any time, including during the trial and still get up to 12 months of free SOS messaging.

When users are beyond cellular range, Garmin inReach helps them keep connected to emergency help when they need it the most. The device enables two-way satellite messaging with family and friends from anywhere in the world, and users can send an interactive SOS alerts to Garmin Response, a 24/7 international emergency coordination centre.

To date, Garmin Response has supported over 19,000 inReach SOS activations. Last year, with the help of Garmin Response, inReach users were able to self-rescue over 12% of the time.
