Organised by the Superyacht Life Foundation, this non-profit initiative brings together boating businesses from across the globe for a coordinated open-day experience. In 2026, the official day will take place on 23 May, with events running throughout the week 18–24 May.
The campaign encourages organisations of all sizes to open their doors and showcase their work, with a focus on the people behind the scenes and the lifestyle that boating, and yachting provides. From marinas, boatyards and shipyards, to training centres, marine brands and service providers, industry-wide involvement is encouraged and you are invited to organise your own local event.
Businesses can tailor their activities to suit their organisation, from guided tours and open days to workshops, talks and on-water experiences.
In 2025, the initiative saw participation from 18 countries, with 100 events reaching an audience of more than 21 million people, helping to raise awareness of the industry and inspire future generations.
For British Marine members, the event provides an excellent opportunity to showcase the diversity, skills and innovation within the UK boating sector, while engaging local communities and potential newcomers to boating.
Members interested in hosting an event can find out more and register their participation, for free, via the official website: https://worldboatingday.com/
