We are pleased to welcome Mandy and Chris to the Board as we continue to strengthen the breadth of expertise guiding British Marine. These appointments reflect a clear focus on enhancing our capability in two critical areas; membership growth and commercial performance. Mandy brings significant experience in membership engagement and organisational development, while Chris offers deep commercial and sales expertise from across the marine sector. Together, they will add real strength to the Board as we continue to evolve and deliver greater value for our members.
Matthew Beckwith Chairman at British Marine
Mandy is an independent business consultant and non-executive director with over 25 years of experience across the UK leisure marine industry. Her career spans sales, aftersales and operational leadership roles with leading companies including Ocean Safety, Oyster Yachts and most recently as Managing Director of Ancasta Yacht Services.
Currently serving as President of Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, where she has been a board member for three and a half years, Mandy brings valuable governance experience within membership organisations, alongside deep operational understanding of the marine sector.
I'm delighted to be joining the British Marine Board at such an exciting time for our industry. Having spent my career working across the leisure marine sector, I've experienced firsthand the challenges and opportunities that members navigate daily. My work on the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce Board has given me valuable insight into membership strategy and engagement, and I'm looking forward to bringing that perspective to British Marine as we continue to evolve and strengthen the value we deliver to members across this diverse and vibrant sector.
Mandy Boughton
Based in Southampton, Mandy maintains a strong personal connection to marine and coastal life. Having sailed across the Atlantic twice, she now enjoys spending time on the water, coastal walks and creating abstract art.

In 1997, Chris founded TBS Boats at Penton Hook, growing the business into a successful multi-site operation with additional offices in Hamble and Harleyford, alongside a craning facility. Under his leadership, the company has evolved into a multi-disciplinary enterprise, offering brokerage services and representing leading new-boat brands including Sealine, Quicksilver and Cranchi.
Chris has also played an active role within the wider industry, serving on several British Marine committees including British Marine Boat Retailers and Brokers Association (BRBA) and the British Marine Thames Valley Association. Having previously served on the British Marine Board in 2018, he now returns to continue contributing his expertise.
A qualified Yachtmaster Offshore, Chris remains passionate about boating and enjoys time on both inland waterways and at sea, particularly sailing in Greece.
I’m proud to join the Board of British Marine and excited to contribute my experience to an industry I’m passionate about, helping drive innovation and positive change.
