The August Race – Oceans Assured™ Compliance Platform has been nominated in the 35th anniversary edition of the DAME Design Awards, recognising its place among new marine industry innovations being considered by the international jury.
Developed to make marine maintenance and its supporting compliance information easier to manage, the platform forms part of the Oceans Assured™ Initiative. This brings together August Race’s range of MARPOL-compliant, Non-Harmful to the Marine Environment (Non-HME) operational maintenance products with a free digital resource for procurement teams and vessel operators.
The platform provides access to safety data sheets, product specifications, life-cycle assessment (LCA) data and MARPOL compliance statements in one place. Users can download supporting documentation, generate shareable reports and access product information through QR codes linked to the range.
It also features a Vessel Checker Tool, enabling users to research potentially applicable legislative requirements, nearby ports and relevant emergency contacts based on their vessel type and operating or voyage location.
The development addresses a practical challenge for marine businesses: the time involved in locating, collating and sharing the documentation needed to support product selection and operational decisions.
Our objective was straightforward: make marine maintenance and its supporting compliance information easier to manage. Providing the right products is one part of that process. Making the supporting evidence straightforward to find, understand and share is equally important. We developed the Oceans Assured Compliance Platform to bring those elements together and help procurement teams and vessel operators make informed decisions. We are delighted to receive a DAME nomination and to see this project included alongside innovations from across the international marine industry.
