Dazcat Catamarans has secured a remarkable clean sweep of the MOCRA (Multihulls Offshore Cruising and Racing Association) class podium in both the 2026 Royal Ocean Racing Club Season’s Points Championship and the Cowes Offshore Series.
The final multihull championship standings are:
Slinky Malinki
Minor Swing
DMS Vinyl
Designed and handcrafted at the Multihull Centre in Millbrook, Cornwall, the three Dazcats delivered an outstanding series of offshore results throughout the season.
Championship winner Slinky Malinki, skippered by Peter Coote, secured both Multihull Line Honours and the MOCRA class victory in the Cervantes Trophy Race. Her speed and consistency kept her at or near the top of the championship table throughout much of the season, ultimately earning her first place overall.
Runner-up Minor Swing, owned and skippered by Didier Bouillard, achieved MOCRA class victories in both the Myth of Malham and Cowes–Dinard–St Malo races. The crew completed their campaign with another class win in the Cherbourg Race.
Completing the podium was the new Dazcat 1495 DMS Vinyl. During an exceptional debut season, she claimed both Multihull Line Honours and the MOCRA corrected-time victory in the Morgan Cup. She remained in close contention with the two leading Dazcat 1295s until collision damage brought her campaign to a premature end in August, preventing her from competing in the remaining races.
For the Multihull Centre, the result represents much more than three positions in a championship table. Each boat was individually designed and handcrafted by its specialist team in Cornwall. Although capable of competing at the front of an international offshore fleet, these are not stripped-out racing machines: they are genuine cruiser-racing catamarans, created to combine offshore speed and capability with the comfort, safety and practicality required for extended cruising.
To see Dazcats occupying all three places on the podium in one of offshore sailing’s most respected season championships is an incredibly proud moment for our small Cornish team. It is a powerful endorsement of our sailing community, design philosophy and of the skill, commitment and attention to detail that go into every boat. These boats are fast and rewarding to sail, but they are also safe, comfortable and practical cruising boat. This result demonstrates just how successfully those qualities can be brought together.
Darren Newton Dazcat founder and designerThe achievement builds upon Dazcat’s long history of offshore racing success and underlines the capability of sustainable British-designed and British-built cruiser-racing multihulls.
The Multihull Centre congratulates the owners, skippers and crews of Slinky Malinki, Minor Swing and DMS Vinyl, together with everyone involved in designing, building, preparing and supporting them.
