SeaKing Boatbuilders expands operations with new partnerships, production and chandlery launch
1 October 2026

SeaKing Boatbuilders is continuing to expand its operations at its waterfront yard in Leigh-on-Sea, with progress on its new 7MX, two major commercial partnerships and the return of its chandlery through the launch of SeaKing Stores.

A great deal has moved forward for the Essex-based boatbuilder in recent months, as the business develops its boatbuilding and manufacturing capabilities alongside a growing marine supply and technology operation.

First SeaKing 7MX takes shape

Construction of the first Seven Meter Cross (7MX) is now well underway at SeaKing’s Leigh-on-Sea yard, with the build progressing into the sheathing and exterior-finishing phase.

The seven-metre boat will feature twin V8 engines producing a combined 500hp and will also act as a showcase for a number of the technologies and products now being introduced by SeaKing.

Production for 2026 is being limited to just two 7MX examples before the company moves on to its next design for 2027.

SeaKing appointed Rockford Marine UK

In September, SeaKing announced its appointment as Rockford Marine UK, following a new agreement with Audiomotive, Rockford Fosgate’s exclusive UK distributor.

The agreement gives SeaKing marine exclusivity for Rockford Fosgate in the UK, with the company working with boatbuilders, yards, installers, designers and boat owners to develop the performance audio brand's presence within the British marine market.

The new 7MX will provide the first major showcase for the partnership, featuring a substantial Rockford Fosgate audio installation to demonstrate the range in a high-performance marine environment.

Chandlery returns with SeaKing Stores

October will also see the return of chandlery to the waterfront yard with the launch of SeaKing Stores.

The new operation will bring marine supply, specialist equipment, advanced manufacturing and product demonstration together under one roof.

Supporting both SeaKing's own boatbuilding programme and the wider marine industry, SeaKing Stores will offer chandlery products, materials, tools and specialist equipment alongside Rockford Marine UK, xTool Professional and SeaKing's growing in-house fabrication capability.

The company describes SeaKing Stores as the new commercial front of its Leigh-on-Sea operation, connecting marine supply, technology, manufacturing and boatbuilding expertise in one location.

New partnership with xTool Professional

SeaKing is also expanding its advanced manufacturing capability following its appointment as a UK sales partner for xTool Professional and MetalFab equipment.

The partnership combines a new commercial role for SeaKing with the integration of xTool technology directly into its own manufacturing operation.

Both the xTool P3 and MetalFab are now installed and operating at the Leigh-on-Sea yard, enabling customers and marine businesses to see the equipment working in a genuine boatbuilding and fabrication environment rather than a conventional showroom.

The technology will support SeaKing's own production while providing demonstration, technical understanding and direct industry access for businesses interested in advanced manufacturing applications.

With new boats in build, manufacturing technology operating on site, new commercial partnerships and the chandlery returning to the waterfront, SeaKing is continuing to develop the Leigh-on-Sea yard into a broader marine manufacturing and supply hub.
